The School District of University City Board of Education recently approved two measures aimed at improving academic achievement and staff development.
As part of its Fourth Cycle Missouri School Improvement Plan Process (MSIP), the board has approved the district’s Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP). The CSIP is a blueprint of the goals outlined by the district for the next five years that deal with academic achievement, governance, highly qualified staffing, safe and secure schools and stakeholder involvement.
To ensure adherence to the CSIP, the district recently invited a number of current and past parents, community members and other University City stakeholders to serve on its Parent and Community Engagement Advisory Council. The council will also give input on the CSIP and help the district remain accountable to its goals.
In separate action, the board also adopted a new Professional Development plan which calls for the district to implement and provide professional growth opportunities for teachers and staff. The new plan is also aligned to the CSIP and building improvement plans.
