Dr. Bernard Harris, the first African American astronaut to walk in space, will bring his "Dream Tour" program to Brittany Woods Middle School on the morning of Thursday, May 22.
He will talk with students at the school about reaching for the stars as well as their own personal potential through the problem solving skills they learn in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. He will also do a science demonstration with students that's associated with space.
Brittany Woods is the fourth stop (and only St. Louis area school) on his 10 city "Dream Tour." The event, which is very visual and resembles a rock concert, is presented by the ExxonMobile Foundation. The tour is designed to help middle school students reach their potential through the power of strong math and science programs and provide improved tools for teachers to deliver more engaging classroom activities.
