LLC prepares for another year with the Great Books CLUB

Students at the Lieberman Learning Center in conjunction with the University City Public Library will again be participating in the Great Books CLUB program. This will be our second time participating in the program. Two years ago students read books, including Stuck in Neutral and Born Blue. Students would then meet with Ms. Karen Klodfelter from the library and discuss the books.

During the 2008-09 school year we will be reading Tyrell, Hole in My Life and Sold. After reading and discussing the books the students will get to keep it. Through this program we hope to encourage students to become more avid life-long readers.

In addition to this program there will be a "trading library" in Mr. Holden's classroom. Students will be encouraged to take books off the shelf and in return donate books that they are finished reading. Parents and community members are welcome to make donations as well. We are particularly looking for current bestsellers and award winning adolescent literature.
