Barbara C Jordan School celebrated Red Ribbon Week with a BANG! We began with presentations from NCADA. Students from the high school were featured doing presentations against tobacco use to our 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students. We then celebrated Red Ribbon Week with SPIRIT. On Monday, we ELECTED to be drug free by wearing red, white, and blue. On Tuesday, we had "Put a Cap on Dugs." Ms. Jamison and several of our students sported their craziest and favorite hats. Wednesday, we "Socked it to Drugs." Again, we saw anything from Dr. Seuss to smiley faces. Finally, we ended the week by "Tying a knot on Drugs." Many students and staff members wore their favorite ties' as we pledge never to use drugs, alcohol, or tobacco. We had one staff member to culminate all of the days into one. What a sight to see. Finally, the Freeway Foundation came to the school and did classroom presentations to K-6 grade on the 28th and 30th which also expressed the importance of just saying no to DRUGS.
