US Bank is partnering with Barbara C Jordan to launch Just Us Kids Financial Literacy Board. The Advisory Board will be charged with the task of educating their peers and younger students at the school on financial literacy and the importance of saving. The "Teach Children to Save Program" curriculum from the American Banker's Association (ABA) Education Foundation will be utilized. US Bank advisers will provide guidance as board members determine the best way to communicate their message and present their information to their peers and younger students within the school.
Each student who completes a full-year on the Financial Literacy Board will be rewarded with a $50 US Saving Bond, which reinforces the importance of savings and compounding interest. They also will be enrolled in the US Bank Just Us Kids savings program and will receive a CD starter kit and one stamp in their passbook.
